Dr Brian Van Onselen
Introduction
Dr Brian van Onselen is a dedicated Specialist Ophthalmologist at Sandhurst Eye Centre with interests in oculoplastic, orbital, and refractive surgery. After matriculating from Pretoria Boys High in 1984, he earned his medical degree from Pretoria University.
He subsequently gained diverse international and local experience, practising as a general practitioner in Canada for two years and in Pretoria for three years before specialising.

Dr van Onselen advanced his ophthalmology career by serving as Director of the Ophthalmic Management Group (OMG) from 2009 to 2013 and as the president of the South African Oculoplastic Society. He is an editorial board member of MIMS Medical Magazine and editor of the Ophthalmic Opinion Medical Journal.
Outside his professional practice, Dr van Onselen values an active lifestyle, regularly participating in golf and tennis, underscoring his belief in balanced living.
