Introduction

Dr Phil Peirce is a leading ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgeon at Sandhurst Eye Centre. He specialises in eyelid, orbital, lacrimal system, and cataract surgery, using advanced oculoplastic techniques for both cosmetic and reconstructive needs.
After completing his MBBCh at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1981, he worked in general surgery at a peripheral hospital in Empangeni before specialising in ophthalmology in 1992. He has been in private practice in Sandton since 1993, providing dedicated patient care for over three decades.

Dr Peirce co-founded the Sandhurst Eye Centre in 1999 and was the co-founder and inaugural president of the South African Society of Oculoplastic Surgery (SASOPS). He was also the first South African ophthalmologist to become an international associate member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASOPRS).
Dr Peirce is passionate about all aspects of oculoplastic surgery, including eyelid, orbital, and lacrimal conditions, as well as cataract surgery. He remains at the forefront of innovation through regular participation in local and international conferences and by adopting the latest surgical techniques and lens technologies.
