Here’s what the glaucoma treatment process typically looks like. We’ll walk you through each stage of your treatment so you know exactly what to expect, with personalised care and support before, during, and after your procedure.
Your ophthalmologist will assess your vision and measure eye pressure. A visual field test and OCT scan may be conducted to determine optic nerve damage and disease progression.
Depending on the severity, treatment may include medicated eye drops, laser procedures to improve fluid drainage, or surgery to lower eye pressure and prevent further damage.
We’ll continue to monitor your eye health with regular check-ups and testing to ensure your treatment remains effective and your vision is protected.
Most treatments, such as eye drops or laser therapy, are painless or cause minimal discomfort. A minority of patients can have side effects to the eyedrops or the preservative in the eyedrops.
Follow-up frequency depends on your condition, but typically every 3 to 6 months to monitor pressure and optic nerve health.
Glaucoma can’t be reversed, but with early detection and proper management, further vision loss can often be prevented.
